AdventHealth’s Taneja Center for Surgery Showcases KHS&S Scopes
AdventHealth Tampa today opened its largest surgical expansion to date, the state-of-the-art Taneja Center for Surgery. The $256 million, 300,000 square-foot facility adds 96 new private patient rooms and 18 operating rooms large enough to accommodate advanced surgical robotic technologies, including the da Vince robotic-assisted surgical system.
In addition to medical functionality, the modern facility also features upscale architectural aesthetics, delivered by KHS&S craftsmen, that create a calm and peaceful healing environment.
KHS&S performed multiple scopes of work including interior and exterior metal framing, GFRC columns, drywall hanging and finishing, GFRG columns and stucco.
KHS&S expertly framed the surgical center’s signature design feature, the two-story main atrium and entrance, which features a sweeping curvilinear form. Additional areas include the 1st floor auditorium with curved wood ceilings, the cafe, gift shop, conference rooms, surgical suites and patient rooms.
In total, KHS&S completed 1.2 million square feet of drywall, 11 miles of wood blocking, 5,000 square feet of EIFS, 3,000 square feet of stucco and 25 GFRC columns.
KHS&S has completed multiple projects for AdventHealth in Tampa and Orlando, including Orlando’s Hospital for Women, AdventHealth CarePavilion Westchase and New Tampa, and multiple projects for AdventHealth Tampa’s main facility on Fletcher Avenue. KHS&S will also begin work on AdventHealth’s expansion in Riverview, Florida.
