Michael Cannon : President KHS&S-East Coast
Michael Cannon is KHS&S Contractors president and managing partner responsible for all aspects of the company's East Coast organization including the Tampa, Orlando, Dallas and Atlantic City offices. Cannon joined KHS&S in 1991 and quickly made his mark on the company by managing the multi-million- dollar Tampa Division for more than 10 profitable years. In 2002, his success led to his being named president of KHS&S-East Coast.
With more than 25 years of experience, Cannon is known as a no-nonsense construction professional who leads by combining keen business acumen with extensive field and project management expertise. His reputation as a leader who knows the industry from the ground up has allowed him to successfully spearhead multiple company-wide efforts focused on operational efficiency and profitability.
Educated in construction engineering at the University of Toledo, Cannon is a past director of the Associated Builders and Contractors and is involved in numerous other professional organizations.
David Suder : President/CEO KHS&S-West Coast
As president/CEO, Dave provides the strategic vision, executive management and drives the corporate philosophy for the KHS&S family of companies, which includes KHS&S Contractors, KHS&S International, KHS&S Specialties and Scenario VPD. Dave helped found KHS&S-West Coast in 1996 and has grown it from a regional subcontracting firm to one of the largest interior/exterior building companies in the world, with offices in 11 domestic cities and six international locations. Through a combination of vision, hard work and risk-taking, Suder has created a multidisciplinary, multi-company organization that combines the traditional foundations of quality construction and the artistry of master craftsmanship with the advanced technology of digital modeling and virtual project delivery. His philosophy of growing the organization through expanding the vision and capabilities of the KHS&S employee teams has become a cornerstone of the KHS&S culture. In 2006, Dave helped introduce the KHS&S employee stock ownership plan, making KHS&S-West Coast an employee-owned company.
Educated at California State University at Fullerton, Suder is experienced in every facet of construction management. He is affiliated with numerous professional associations, including the California Wall & Ceiling Contractors Association, the Themed Entertainment Association and the Nevada Contractor's Association. In 2009, Dave was also named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® for the California and desert regions.
Philip Cherne : Chief Operating Officer KHS&S-West Coast
In his role as chief operating officer, Phil Cherne is responsible for the operations of all KHS&S entities, including KHS&S Contractors, KHS&S International, KHS&S Specialties and Scenario VPD. Spanning across companies, disciplines and continents, Phil plays a vital role in transitioning KHS&S from a national contracting corporation to an international family of companies that provides construction and contracting services, fabrication, design-assist services, virtual project delivery technology and development consultation to clients around the globe.
Phil joined KHS&S in 1997 providing leadership over KHS&S operations, estimating and preconstruction services, including KHS&S-West Coast's highly acclaimed themed construction services. Under Phil’s direction, KHS&S earned a national reputation for creating award-winning blends of colors, textures and finishes. He currently works to expand this reputation internationally while creating the processes that will put KHS&S at the forefront of the technology revolution in the AEC industry.
Educated at California State University at Fullerton, Cherne has extensive experience in construction operations, design-assist services and organizational development.
Mark Gill : Executive Vice President / General Manager KHS&S-West Coast
As executive vice president / general manager, Mark Gill oversees all the construction operations of KHS&S Contractors-West Coast, including the company's six permanent office locations and all outlying U.S. project areas. In this role, Mark is responsible for providing the optimal operations framework, administrative structure, human resources and technical resources to ensure the consistent delivery of quality projects to every customer. Mark is also responsible for KHS&S Contractors overall financial performance. Mark joined KHS&S in 1999 as KHS&S-Concord's managing partner. With more than 25 years of extensive field and construction experience, Mark grew KHS&S-Concord into one of the most profitable divisions of KHS&S before accepting his current company-wide responsibilities.
Educated at California State University at Fullerton, Gill is skilled and experienced in all facets of the construction industry, including estimating, sales, field operations and executive project management. He has also been directly involved in completing some of the Southwest's largest and most prestigious construction projects.
John Platon : Senior Vice President KHS&S-West Coast
As senior vice president, John Platon is responsible for securing profitable new projects and for identifying and developing opportunities for joint ventures and other business relationships that further KHS&S' strategic goals for growth and expansion. Since joining KHS&S in 2001, Platon has played an integral role in KHS&S’ international expansion, has been instrumental in domestic expansion to numerous states and has helped secure some of the company’s largest and most prestigious projects, including the $80,000,000 Red Rock Casino Resort.
Educated in architecture at Long Beach State University in California and having more than 30 years of professional construction experience, Platon has worked in all facets of the construction process. It’s this broad base of knowledge that gives him the ability to quickly evaluate a project, making suggestions for ways to overcome potential challenges and offering cost-saving materials and building alternatives. It’s also made him invaluable to clients, helping KHS&S build relationships throughout the construction industry.
Steven Ehrlich : Chief Financial Officer KHS&S-East Coast
In his role as KHS&S Chief Financial Officer, Steven Ehrlich directs all financial activities of KHS&S-East Coast, including internal and external financial reporting, business growth forecasting and overseeing of accounting and auditing functions. In addition, Ehrlich oversees the company's banking and capital investment decisions. A CPA with more than 17 years of experience in the building and construction industry, Ehrlich was also instrumental in developing the KHS&S shareholder/business model, an important component of KHS&S' strategic growth plan.
Ehrlich received a master's in business administration from the Wharton School of Business, and a bachelor's in electrical engineering from the University of Virginia. Trained in public accounting at Coopers and Lybrand, Ehrlich is a past president of the Tampa Bay Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association, where he remains an active member.
Dennis Norman : Chief Financial Officer KHS&S-West Coast
In his role as chief financial officer, Dennis Norman oversees the company’s accounting and auditing functions and directs the organization’s financial activities, financial reporting and business growth forecasting. A CPA with more than 23 years experience, Norman is also responsible for the company’s banking and investment relationships.
Norman received his accounting degree from Illinois State University and his MBA from Pepperdine University. Prior to joining KHS&S in 2002, Norman held key financial positions in the construction industry in Texas and throughout California.
